Visitor Centers in Olympic National Park

There are three visitor centers and multiple ranger stations in Olympic National Park.

Olympic National Park Visitor Center

The park’s primary visitor center, this Port Angeles center houses a staffed information desk, bookstore, nature exhibits, and kids’ Discovery Room; a theater shows the free park movie. Open daily, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Wilderness Information Center is also here, where you can ask questions about hiking, obtain wilderness camping permits, and borrow bear canisters. Open daily, 7:30 a.m. to 6 or 7 p.m. in summer.

Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center

This high-elevation visitor center at the end of Hurricane Ridge Road has a staffed information desk, exhibits, a snack bar, gift shop, and park movie. Open daily, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in summer. Also open on winter weekends when the road is plowed.

Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center

Deep in the Hoh Rainforest, this center has rangers on hand to answer questions, exhibits, and a bookstore, and it issues backcountry permits. Open daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ranger Stations

Several ranger stations throughout the park offer information, exhibits, maps, and sometimes a bookstore; several also issue backcountry permits. You’ll find stations at Elwha, Storm King, Sol Duc, Kalaloch, Mora, Ozette, Quinault, and Staircase.
