Park your RV on the Waterfront Next to Olympic National Park

Whether you’re traveling in summer or winter, book a campsite on Washington’s rugged and spectacular coast bordering Olympic National Park for some seriously stunning views. The Quileute Tribe manages two RV parks to choose from: Quileute Oceanside Resort and Riverview RV Park, both offering sites with picture perfect views and lots of amenities.

Quileute Oceanside Resort is situated on First Beach in La Push, just one mile from the trailhead to Third Beach in Olympic National Park. The resort offers 66 sites with full hookups including 30 or 50-amp electric, water and sewer. Sites can accommodate rigs between 30 and 50 feet in length depending on the site. Some sites are pull-through, making it easy to stay whether you’re in an extra-large RV or are living the van life. Depending on which site you pick, you might have ocean views perfect for taking in the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. The resort also offers motel rooms and cabins.

Six miles south is Riverview RV Park where you can walk to the Bogachiel River. This campground offers the same full-service amenities including hookups and pull through sites that can accommodate bigger RVs. It’s a great spot to basecamp for exploration of both Olympic’s beaches and its rainforests.

At both RV parks, you’ll find ice, firewood and propane for sale as well as showers and coin laundry facilities.

When you stay on the coast, your opportunities for recreation are endless. Spend time exploring the beaches including tide pools and incredible views of sea stacks. The North Coast and South Coast backpacking routes start from this area and whether you want to spend a few hours hiking a portion of the trail, or head out on a multi-day excursion, you’ll find incredible natural wonders. Head inland and you’ll quickly reach the Hoh Rainforest with mesmerizing trails and hot springs.

Many people make the mistake of assuming that Olympic National Park is only a summer destination. In fact, winter is one of the most incredible times to visit, especially the coast. From September through April, storm watching is a major draw. The power of the ocean is visible as huge driftwood logs get tossed around like they’re matchsticks.

“The beach changes every day,” says general manager Renee Rux. “I’ll take my daily walk and the beach will be sand and the next day it’ll be covered in rocks. It’s spectacular.”

Winter is also the season for world-class salmon and steelhead fishing, along with whales migrating that you might spot from the beach.
